Crashed car abandoned

By MELISSA MEEHAN

POLICE are investigating the cause of a crash which saw the driver abandon their car after it crashed through a residential fence.
Belgrave Sergeant Craig West said police were called to an address on Belgrave – Hallam Road not long after 9am to find a car had driven over the nature strip, raised embankment, brick fence and into a tree.
“The owners didn’t hear anything, so we think it happened overnight,” he said.
“But we believe the young driver may have lost control and abandoned the car here.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Belgrave Police on 9754 6677.
