Suspicious fire probed

POLICE are investigating a shed and bungalow fire they believe was deliberately lit last weekend in Monbulk.
Detective Senior Constable Rod Newberry said emergency crews were called to a fire not long after 1am on Sunday 18 May.
He said that the Wishing Well nursery had also been broken into, with the stolen items left in the burnt down shed.
“The shed and bungalow were very close to residential properties which are a concern for us,” Detective Sen Const Newberry said.
“They cut the fence, and broke into the property.
“It’s on a main road, so we’re hoping someone has seen them and can give us some information.”
Both buildings were destroyed by fire.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sen Const Newberry at Lilydale police station on 9739 2300 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
