Fabulous conditions prevailed at Emerald Golf Club last Saturday with just a slight bit of moistureembedded in the gentle, wafting breeze. South African Foursome was the challenge where teams oftwo played stableford. Their team score on each hole was calculated by multiplying the pairs’ scores together.
This accounted for the high and corresponding low scores.
At the wash-up it was divulged that the team of Peter Clowes (17) and Leigh Morison(18) were the winners with 74 points. The 2nd
Nearest, and in 2nd place were Steve Town and Ross Martin with 62 followed by Broc Reynolds (14) and Dean Shannon (16) on 61 as were Travis Gerbes (7) and Martin Yeats (10).
John Fisher won the Stockdale and Leggo nearest the pin on the 4th, Barry Cook the 7th, Jeff Marsh the 12th, Greg Horrocks the 13th and Yeats pocketed the pro pin drachma on the 18th.The ladies’ event caused no surprise when Brianna McCoy continued her winning way partnering Irene Scoot to an impressive win. Following them in were Kendra Sumsion and Petra Glasscock in second place.
Wednesday’s Obviously Fabricated Golf (OFG), using OFG handicaps, was a stableford event. A drawwas the result between John Piggott (23) and Conrad Whitlock (16) both carding 38 points. The ever consistent Sepp Krummenacher, (23) came in next with 36 points to play to his handicap.
Next Saturday, when there is another minor event happening at the MCG, the Emerald Golf Club members will be hitting off early in a stableford event so that they have time to warm the set and cool the tinnies for the other minor event.
