Pink fit for fundraiser

By MELISSA MEEHAN

CELEBRATING all things pink, the Belgrave CWA will hold a fundraising afternoon tea on Wednesday for the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
President Phyllis Hartley said everyone was welcome to the event, which is to be held at the Belgrave CWA Hall at 1596 Burwood Highway from 1pm on Wednesday 1 October.
“We are holding an afternoon tea and raising funds for breast cancer,” Ms Hartley said.
“Everyone is welcome, it’s a $10 donation and all proceeds to go to breast cancer.”
Ms Hartley said the cause was close to their hearts because some members either suffered from breast cancer or knew people who have.
“The idea is to highlight the cause,” she said.
“We’ll have a guest speaker and members from a number of different groups will attend, too.”
