Juniors going great guns

By STEVE UTTING

ANOTHER big week for the Monbulk Juniors, as the club added another U10 team. The club now has seven Junior teams, including two U11 and two U10 teams. The Milo in2cricket registration was also held on Friday night and it looks like being another big year, with about 80 kids registered already. Thanks to Damian Howard for his superb organisation of the night. Milo sessions start on 7 November, along with the U10s and U11s.
On the field, the U15s had their first win. With three U13s filling in, they defeated Aura Vale by 31 runs. Thomas Badgery batted well to retire on 25, Flynn Trewavis finished on 19no and U13 player Josh Spencer made 17no as well as taking 2/6. The U17s and U15s both had good games but lost on the day to stronger opposition.
The top three senior sides started two-day matches, and the fourths lost a close one. Great to see so many of the Juniors (U17s & U13s) playing in the seniors and doing well, including Daniel Cleary’s bowling in the 2s, Aaron Gillard remains not out in the 3s and Travis Wills making 35 in the fourths.
U17sMonbulk 8/56 lost to Knoxfield 6/102.
