Big dreams marketed

BELGRAVE’s Big Dreams Market will be on again next weekend, with handmade, organic and local products on display and music ringing through the town.
The Big Dreams market is held on the second Sunday of each month at the St Thomas Mores Primary School in Belgrave, bringing together a range of hand-made, locally made and organic goods.
From clothing to fresh produce, whole foods, international foods and all-manner of attractions, the market has something for people of all ages, interests and tastes.
Dandenong Ranges local Indian street-food hawkers, Babaji’s Kitchen, will be celebrating their first year of cooking on the streets at next Sunday’s market on 8 February.
Babaji’s Kitchen is similar to food hawkers in Mumbai laneways, Delhi’s holes in the walls and Indian railway platforms, cooking Indian street foods uncommon in Australia.
In the year since setting up, the team at Babaji’s Kitchen have also expanded into the city, cooking up meals at the Queen Victoria Night Market on Wednesdays.
To mark the occasion, the air at the market will be full of the sound of the South Indian Chenda drum, adding to the atmosphere of the event, which features performers, singers and entertainers of all kinds.
