Rising Hawk spreads cheer

By PETER DOUGLAS

AFL Rising Star nominee for round seven, Billy Hartung, mixed it with the students at Yarra Ranges SDS last week. As part of the Hawthorn football club’s community engagement initiative, the former Dandenong Stingray, 20, and Hawk rookie Shen-Kalvin Tatupu visited the Mount Evelyn school to brighten the childrens’ day. The duo participated in a question-and-answer session, as well as signed autographs for the many ‘recently converted’ Hawks fans. In a fantastic display of character from the former Mount Eliza junior, Hartung said he simply loved putting a smile on the kids’ faces.
