UPWEY Tecoma Community Recreation and Sporting Hub (UTCRASH) recently showed its fighting spirit at the Upwey Tecoma Football Netball Club’s home turf, which has earned them just reward. Yarra Ranges Shire has acknowledged the group’s ability to rally behind their cause, last week committing $1 million for a sports pavilion at the Thompson Reserve in Upwey. UTCRASH committee member Andrew Peterson said the club and community would soon enjoy first-class facilities, rather than put up with sub-standard infrastructure. The reserve plays host to many local sporting teams including football, netball and cricket.
