Credit check

AS SOMEONE who has worked in Local Government for more than 25 years, I find it amazing that Yarra Ranges Shire councillors can exempt themselves from the normal sensible checks and balances of financial governing.
This move sounds more like some state in Mexico.
Yes, women are entitled to financial assistance if they need it, but there should be financial checks as to the total income of a councillor’s family, similar to the age pension.
A limit of $10,000 must be included to ensure that all councillors play by the same rules or we could give each councillor a credit card to do what they want, like some union officials.
