THE Third Annual Australian Chainsaw Carving Championship held at Sky High Mount Dandenong hosted chainsaw wizards from across Australia and the globe.

Held over five days, the event had 10 competitors this year with the addition of a speed carving event, where competitors have one hour to carve a piece from a blank log.

The overall winners of the championships were Hikaru Kodama from Japan, Jeff Samudosky from the US and Matt Bird from Queensland.

The winners received cash prizes of $3000, $2000 and $1000 for placing first, second and third in the competition.
