MAIL reader Robin Freestun has submitted this image of what he believes is a copperhead snake in Mt Evelyn. Mr Freestun said the many wildlife pictures featured in the Lenscape section inspired him to submit the image. “I loved Greg Carrick’s beautiful photo of the Powerful Owl (Mail, 19 January). We live on the aqueduct trail off Priestley Crescent, Mt Evelyn, and hear the owls, but never get to see them. A couple of days ago my wife and I went for a bike ride along the aqueduct trail, and about 400m from Hunters Road (by the fruit processing plant on Monbulk Road), we nearly rode over this beautiful four-foot, or so, copperhead snake (I think). I took a photo with my iPhone 5S as the snake headed into the bushes.” To submit your images, email editor@mailnewsgroup.com.au. 149391
