MONBULK College has stolen the show at the 2015 VCE Showcase of Excellence where 15 of 19 studio art students had their work on display at Burrinja.
The VCE Showcase is a display of the work of the best art and studio arts students from the local schools in the Dandenong Ranges.
Madeline George, school vice-captain at Monbulk College, even got her photographic work in to Top Arts at the NGV.
Around 3000 students apply from around Victoria for Top Arts and only about 40 get through into the final for that prestigious showcase.
Monbulk College studio arts teacher Helen Macinnes said she was very proud of the achievements of her students last year.
“I had a wonderful group of students in 2015 studio arts,” she said.
“They were passionate, dedicated and applied themselves with maturity and diligence all year, so their successes are a wonderful affirmation and celebration of their hard work.”
Students Madeline George, Tayla McKay and Amanda Lacy all have work on display at Burrinja and said they were very happy about showing their work to the public.
“We all want to thank Ms Macinnes for the great year we had,” the students said.
“She was a tough marker but fair and we think it made us better students for it.”
The VCE Creative Showcase will be on display at Burrinja Cultural Center in Upwey until 6 March.
