ONE of Sydney’s must-see live acts will storm the stage at Sooki Lounge in Belgrave on Thursday 26 May as part of a whirlwind tour on the back of a new EP.
Lepers and Crooks played over 200 shows in 2014-’15, a feat which earned them the title of Australia’s hardest-working band.
The band have just finished recording their second EP with Jeff Martin of The Tea Party at his studio just out of Bryon Bay called ‘The Heathen Circus’.
Featuring Sam Baker (vocals), Pat Reuter Town (rhythm guitar and vocals), Alex Court (lead guitar), Garreth Clavijo (bass) and Damien Jones (drums), the five-piece band are electrifying on stage.
Their big rock sound is heavily influenced by classic rock and psychedelic, but with a few mixed modern flavours that make Lepers and Crooks a rather different listen than most rock bands today.
Their sound and charismatic on-stage presence earned the band attention from big names such as Ian Huffam from X-Ray Touring (UK/Europe), Scott McKenzie from Premier Artists (AUS) and Chris Murphy’s Murphy Music Publishing.
The opening single of ‘The Heathen Circus’ called ‘Let You Go’ is due out on iTunes and Spotify on 12 May, and an extensive east coast tour including Sooki Lounge.
