ANIMAL Aid in Coldstream is offering people the chance to show off their adorable pets while raising much-needed funds for their animal shelter.
Entries are now open for submissions to the 2017 Animal Aid Calendar Photo Contest and give everyone’s pet the chance to be a calendar model.
The donation for submitting a photo of your furry friend is $10 and you can submit as many photos as you like.
Each submission starts off your photo with 10 votes and each subsequent vote from anyone in the public is just $1.
The 13 photos that receive the most votes will become the featured photos for the calendar, with the most voted for photo overall to also appear on the calendar’s cover.
Every pet will have the chance to be in the calendar, with those missing out on feature photos being included in a collage page within the calendar.
All donations to animal aid are tax deductible and all money raised through donations and calendar sales will go towards helping homeless and distressed animals.
“Animal Aid cares for around 6000 animals each year, giving every one of them the opportunity of a second chance by finding a loving, safe home,” fund-raising manager for Animal Aid Carolyn Moorshead said.
“Receiving no government funding to operate, the organisation depends on the generosity and support of the broader community.”
Ms Moorshead said the calendar fund-raiser gave everyone a chance to lend a helping hand to the animal shelter.
“It is easy to enter and even if someone doesn’t have a pet they can still support us by voting for one of the entries,” she said.
Entries for the calendar will be accepted until midnight Sunday 14 August and can be submitted online at www.my.360photocontest.com/AnimalAid.
