BELGRAVE resident Laura Paton and her pal Emma Kendrick were among the first guests lucky enough to have spent the night at the unique Monopoly Hotel at Federation Square.
The duo camped out on Wednesday 7 September, in one of the world’s smallest hotels, which measures just 2.4m x 3m and features a Monopoly-themed interior.
The hotel has been built to celebrate the return of the Monopoly Game at McDonald’s and was inspired by the tiny house movement that is trending globally.
Laura said it was a unique experience.
“It’s not often you get to say that you woke up in a giant game piece,” she said.
“We’re such big fans of Macca’s and Monopoly and we certainly feel like we’ve been given the VIP treatment with the exclusive stay and, of course, being the first people in the country to play – it’s been unreal!”
The hotel is decked out with retro prints and quintessential accessories.
