COMEDIAN Akmal Saleh will be bringing 3D humour to the York on Lilydale in Mount Evelyn on Saturday 8 October.
Drawing from his experiences immigrating to Australia from Egypt at age 11, Mr Saleh will perform at venues across Victoria with hilarious topics in a slightly offensive way.
Mr Saleh said, for the first time he had promised to appear in high definition 3D.
His Arab heritage steers his comedy to issues of religion, honesty and historical looks at modern day life.
He recently appeared on the TV series, I’m a Celebrity Get Me out of Here and has been a regular on TV show, Have You been Paying Attention.
Mr Saleh is well known for his accomplished stand-up comedy, and has performed at festivals all around the world, including the Edinburgh Fringe.
He said the performance at the York on Lilydale will be stand-up comedy with a supporting act.
“I have a skeleton I intend to do, then I try to play with that – I improvise a lot, [and] I’ll be bringing the flu with me,” Mr Saleh said.
He said although he didn’t want to appear on I’m a Celebrity Get Me out of Here and found it wasn’t for him, the experience gave him good material for his acts.
“Any experience can be good [or] bad, as long as you get material out of it,” Mr Saleh said.
“I love performing and getting up on stage wherever I am.”
Tickets cost $45 and attendants need to be over 18 years old – 3D glasses are not provided.
