Parks Victoria is hosting the Olinda Community Open Day on Saturday 18 November, where the wider community will be able to view the Olinda Golf Course Precinct Plan.
Deputy Premier and Member for Monbulk James Merlino will announce funded elements of the precinct plan to the community on the day.
The day will feature community and environmental groups to educate and entertain the wider community, as well as Parks Victoria’s project team to discuss details of the project.
More than 215 people have contributed to consultation events, and Parks Victoria received 560 survey responses, which have contributed to the development of the precinct plan.
The open day will be an opportunity for Parks Victoria and council to continue the conversation with the community.
Parks Victoria is leading the implementation of the first stage of works under the plan which were funded in the 2017/’18 State Budget.
Detailed designs are expected to be released in early 2018 with construction to commence in mid-2018 and the design process will consider all values, such as cultural, natural, visitor movement, terrain and vistas to reach the plan’s outcomes.
As part of this process, several assessments are being undertaken including, an environmental risk assessment, land survey and cultural heritage assessment.
