Finals fever has begun, with the Under-14 girls and Under-14 boys playing it out against strong opponents.
Both teams plus the Under-16 boys will play in the next round of elimination finals on Sunday 19 August.
Under-14 girls
Yarra Glen 4.6.30 d Monbulk 2.1.13
The side’s first final against Yarra Glen/Coldstream was going to be a big task.
The team re-grouped and focused on its strengths on the field and what it needed to be more consistent with.
The girls played courageous and disciplined football for four quarters.
Under-14 boys
Emerald 2.8.20 d Monbulk 2.1.13
The team was looking forward to the challenge against a very good opponent.
The boys were competitive throughout and a late surge saw a narrow defeat.
They side is hoping to turn the tables next week.
