Mixed results mark the return of two-day cricket

Two-day cricket kicked off for the first time since Covid with some mixed results.

Monbulk Cricket Club’s 1s, 2s, 4s and U/16s had a win while the club’s 3s, 5s, Vets and U/12s had a loss but put up competitive performances.

There were two standout performances from two youngsters, with Ethan Knight making 50 not out in the U16s on the morning of Saturday 28 October.

This was followed up in the 4s with Lachy Tilley taking a brilliant five-fer.

A stunning display of bowling saw impressive figures of 5/27 off 11.3 overs.
