With the long weekend, only Monbulk’s 1’s & 2’s played on Saturday 4 November, both one dayers against their neighbours Olinda.

The 1’s won a close match at Olinda. They batted first making 8/166. 2’s skipper Keels Storey stepped up and was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/26. In reply, a captains knock by Shane Cosstick who batted the entire innings making 69 not out was the backbone of a great win. We passed their score 6 down with 2 overs to spare.

In the 2s, batting first, Brad Trinnick and Liam Mackin set up the win with a good opening partnership which was then finished beautifully by Kyle Saf and a ripper 45 not out off 33 balls by Jake Santini. Chasing Monbulk’s 5/164, Olinda lost regular wickets to be all out for 99.

All bowlers doing a great job including Ethan Blenkiron (2/14 from 8), but the highlight of the match was a magnificent 5/15 by Connor Haworth-Hooker.
