HILLS people can have their say on the future direction of the Emerald township next week.
The Shire of Cardinia is putting a survey in the Ranges Trader Mail to allow local people and visitors to the region to have their say.
This is one of several opportunities that people will have to give the council their ideas for the development of the township strategy.
The council has already held a Speak Out forum which more than 150 hills people participated in.
A questionnaire will be placed in the Mail on Tuesday, 7 November, and all residents and visitors are welcome to fill it in and drop it off to the Emerald Library or community house.
Ranges Ward councillor Graeme Legge, said the outcome of the community consultation activities will give the council a clear direction for the township strategy.
He said the strategy is a 10 to 15-year plan that will outline key areas for improvement including open space, the environment, transport, community and town centre.
Cr Legge said the council is working in conjunction with the Emerald Village Committee and local community groups to put together the strategy.
But he said what is in the strategy is up to the community so people need to get involved and have their say.
