Morning drink-driver

Lilydale police were astonished when a man allegedly blew more than four times the legal alcohol limit in Mooroolbark before many had even had their morning coffee.

Police intercepted the 36-year-old man driver on David Drive about 9am on Thursday 22 November.

The Mooroolbark man allegedly returned an evidentiary breath test reading of .226.

Police immediately impounded the man’s vehicle and suspended his licence for 12 months.

He is expected to be charged on summons with drink-driving offences.
