Fatal shed fire

Police will prepare a report for the coroner following a fatal shed fire in Ferntree Gully.

Emergency services were called to Station Street following reports of an explosion just before 4.45pm on Friday 11 January.

Firefighters found a yet to be identified man and a dog dead inside the shed after extinguishing the fire.

No one else was injured as a result of the incident.

At this stage the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
