Last chance to enrol for the Streeton Ward by-election

Eligible residents and ratepayers are being urged to enrol to vote for the upcoming Yarra Ranges Shire Council Streeton Ward by‑election before it’s too late.

Enrolment closes at 4pm on Friday 10 December.

Australian citizens living within Streeton Ward who have recently turned 18 years old or changed their address can complete an online enrolment form or download a paper form at www.vec.vic.gov.au/enrolment.

Paper enrolment forms must be received by the Victorian Electoral Commission by 4pm on Friday 10 December.

There are special enrolment categories for owners, occupiers, company nominees and people who are not Australian citizens but pay rates for an address in Streeton Ward.

People in these categories can apply directly to Yarra Ranges Shire Council to enrol, by calling 1300 368 333.

Nominations for candidates open on Thursday 13 January and close on Tuesday 18 January 2022.

Ballots will be distributed through post to every person on the voter roll between Tuesday 1 February and Thursday 3 February before voting closes on Friday 18 February 2022.

Saturday 19 February has been prescribed as Election Day by the Electoral Commission, with Monday 28 February 2022 the latest date all results will be declared.

Around 12,415 Victorians are enrolled in Streeton Ward, which includes Upwey, Sassafras, Olinda and surrounding areas.
