PTV offering free travel into Melbourne

Residents of Ferntree Gully and the Dandenong Ranges will be able to access free public transport into the city over the holiday period.

PTV is giving away 250,000 free public transport travel vouchers throughout December and January in a bid to promote a safe return to public transport.

The vouchers cover all public transport in Victoria travelling to the CBD including Melbourne and regional trains, trams, coaches and buses.

50,000 vouchers will be available in five different event categories: Christmas events, galleries and attractions, dining, performing arts and shopping.

The vouchers will be available from 16 December on a “first come, first serve” basis for travel beginning on 18 December.

The voucher will only be valid for the nominated day of travel and can either be printed or displayed on a valid device.

PTV asks people to remember to wear a fitted mask covering your nose and mouth while travelling on public transport, and to check in with QR codes and stations and stops while you travel.
