Gumtrees trap cyclist

A cyclist was taken to hospital after being trapped by two fallen gum trees on Mountain Highway, The Basin on Sunday 28 August.

The Basin Fire Brigade attended the scene on Sunday 28 August, working with Ambulance Victoria and local SES crews to to rescue the man and remove the fallen trees.

“Although the cyclist sustained several injuries and required transport to hospital by ambulance, he was incredibly lucky it was not more serious,” The Basin Fire Brigade said in a Facebook post.

The man aged in his 50s was treated for upper body injuries and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
