Monbulk Road between Kallista and Belgrave is closed from 7am to 5pm on Thursday 12 January.
The Department of Transport and Planning is “undertaking an urgent tree removal on Monbulk Road in Belgrave as a part of the landslip repair,” according to an email from the department.
“We have identified a tree within the road reserve that has become unstable due to the landslip,” The department said.
“This tree must be removed to keep motorists and crews safe whilst we undertake repairs on the site.”
Monbulk Road is closed between Glen Harrow Heights Road and Coles Ridge Track.
