New faces in Belgrave South

The Medical Clinic Belgrave South is delighted to welcome two new doctors who have recently joined the family practice – Dr Swagat Shrestha and Dr Hnin P Aung.

For more than 30 years, The Medical Clinic Belgrave South has been providing the community with compassionate and comprehensive medical care.

The clinic offers a large and varied range of medical services. Services cater to every member of the family and include preventative and acute care, chronic disease management, women’s, men’s and children’s health and wound care.

In addition, The Medical Clinic’s doctors can perform age-specific health assessments, steroid injections, Platelet Rich Plasma injections, home medication reviews, childhood immunisations and travel medicines, Implanon insertions and removals, iron infusions, the flu vaccine, and venesections.

Blood pressure checks can also be conducted at The Medical Clinic and doctors can provide asthma and diabetes advice.

The family-friendly clinic is committed to providing a comprehensive general practice care to all individuals and families in the community, working in conjunction with local specialists, healthcare groups and services.

The Medical Clinic’s Belgrave South practice is staffed by four doctors – Dr Julia Guzenko, Dr Gerry Tan, Dr Hnin Aung and Dr Swagat Shrestha.

They are assisted by a highly capable nursing and reception teams.

All of the doctors have many years’ experience working in general practice, each specialising in different areas so that the clinic can offer a variety of services to the community.

The Medical Clinic Belgrave South is located at 130 Colby Drive, Belgrave South. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm and on Saturdays from 9am until noon.

Dr Aung obtained the medical degree in 2004 at Institute of Medicine 1 Yangon, Myanmar, practicing medicine for 14 years since.

Dr Aung’s area of expertise are Women’s health in different ages:

adolescents (eg adolescent gynaecology, contraception, sexual health, endometriosis, PCOS)

Reproductive age (eg pre pregnancy counselling, initial assessment and management of Subfertility, antenatal and postpartum shared care, procedural gynaecology such as Implanon and Mirena insertion)

peri menopause and post menopause (assessment and management, Hormone replacement therapy)

Dr Aung obtained the medical degree in 2004 at Institute of Medicine 1 Yangon, Myanmar, practicing medicine for 14 years since.

Dr Shrestha completed his MBBS training in 2003 and has been a fulltime GP since 2016.

Dr Shrestha is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice ( FRACGP ). He has previously worked in multiple specialties in tertiary hospitals in Australia since 2009.

His special interest is in all areas of General Practice, including Chronic Disease management and Preventive care.
