Classic 1970s Holden Kingswood located burnt out in Menzies Creek

A classic 1979 Holden Kingswood, stolen from a home in Pakenham last week, has been located burnt out in Menzies Creek overnight.

A member of the public saw a car on fire near parklands near Lake Aura Vale and called Triple Zero (000) about 11.30pm.

Emergency services attended the scene and put out the fire.

Officers who attended the scene identified the vehicle as being the sentimental 1970’s Holden Kingswood in which the owner and detectives had yester appealed for it’s return.

Police have seized the Holden which will now undergo forensic testing.

Police are appealing to anyone who has information about the fire or theft of the Kingswood to come forward.

The car was stolen during a burglary which occurred on Friday 15 September about 5am.

Investigations remain ongoing.
