Just for boys at Sassafras. The Hart School of Dance is offering boys-only classes with well-known teacher and performer, Tim McDowell.AS the new year begins for lots of students around the hills, a buzz of excitement is brewing at the Hart School of Dance.
After 28 years, a new page has turned that has all the ‘boys’ talking – the advent of a new ‘boys-only’ dance class.
The school, established in 1978, not surprisingly has mostly attracted female students who have already given the school an excellent reputation and allowed it to develop an environment that not only encourages excellence in dance, but allows for plenty of fun and friendship as well.
The school has been lucky enough to gain the services of one of Australia’s most gifted and experienced teachers in Tim McDowell.
His resume includes leading performances in most of the professional musicals that have graced Australian stages in recent years including ‘West Side Story’, ‘Sweet Charity’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz’, to name a few.
In addition to teaching and performing, Tim is running his own company, Crescendo Entertainment that is producing its own professional tap group, Stampeede.
However, it’s not only experience that Tim will bring to the boys’ class – his fantastic level of enthusiasm and energy is guaranteed to make it a real hit with the guys.
So the Hart School is wondering whether there is a budding Hugh Jackman, Adam Garcia or Dein Perry in the hills. If there is, now is the opportunity to kick-start a career by joining the newly formed ‘boys-only’ dance class on Wednesdays from 5pm to 6pm at the Sassafras Hall.
