A KALLISTA woman has taken one step closer to her dream of becoming a professional photographer with her first exhibition which is currently on show at Restore Cafe in Caulfield East.
Krystal Seigerman finished university just two years ago and now has her first 14-photograph exhibition.
The exhibition titled ‘New York to Nova Scotia’ is a series of contemporary landscapes taken in North America, Canada and the United States of America.
Since finishing a degree from Deakin University in media and photography in 2003, Krystal has been travelling and working part-time as a photographic assistant.
Krystal’s exhibition opened on Saturday, 5 November and will finish on Wednesday, 30 November.
She said the opening night of the exhibition was a success and sold several of her photographs.
Krystal is now working on a group exhibition with several former students from Deakin University, which has an emphasis on fine art.
“I will also keep working as a photographic assistant, as well as working on some ideas for future exhibitions, my main aim is to be a full-time professional photographer,” she said.
Kystal said she is inspired by the New York photographer Arthur Tress who is known for his documentary photography.
“ I am interested in pursuing a number of areas of photography. My favourite areas are in the fine arts, still life photography, and documentary work,” she said.
Anyone interested in checking out Krystal’s work can see it at Restore Cafe at 18 Derby Road, Caulfield East.
