Star Mail issues apology

Star Mail would like to issue an apology after an article was published both in print and online, with hateful language quoted.

The article was referring to a Knox for Palestine protest outside Mary Doyle’s office. It was published on Tuesday 19 August, in the Ranges Trader and Ferntree Gully-Belgrave Star Mail editions.

The digital article has since been edited to remove comments that go against editorial standards and guidelines.

It was poor editorial judgment for this article to be published as it was, and we apologise to our readers for any offence or harm it may have caused.

We are taking steps to rectify this.
