Angels on high

Mary looks up at the visiting angel at All Saints Church in Selby.Mary looks up at the visiting angel at All Saints Church in Selby.

AN angel lit up in white from 9pm to midnight every night until Tuesday, 3 January is part of this year’s Christmas Journey Light Show,
The serene sight of Mary and the angel is the first part of the story, with parts two and three displayed at Belgrave South Baptist Church and Belgrave Heights Uniting Church respectively. Part two depicts the angels telling the shepherds about the coming of Christ, and part three portrays the birth. The depictions are the handiwork of husband and wife Robert and Judy de Bruyn, who have been enlightening local residents in this way for the past five years.
Mr and Mrs de Bruyn said the displays were there to take adults and children through the Christmas journey, since the nativity was not covered as much as it used to be.
“It’s the best story and this is the best time to tell it,” Mrs de Bruyn said.
