THE BELGRAVE Masonic Lodge is offering family and friends of the founding members the opportunity to purchase photographs taken in 1928 of the office bearers.
The lodge is one of the oldest masonic clubs in the Dandenongs and was first consecrated in April 1928.
To mark the beginning of the club the founding office bearers were photographed and placed on a photo board, which remains on display in the lodge meeting room.
Belgrave Masonic Centre manager Noel Abson said these rare photographs were virtually unknown to the general public.
Mr Abson said the lodge was now releasing the photographs as individual copies for families, historical groups, or anyone interested in obtaining a copy.
The founding members of the lodge were Arthur Brown, George Chandler, Reverend Charles Clark, Dr Shirley Francis, George Gilmour, Sidney Hunt, Robert Johnson, Cyril Johnston, Percival Leitch, John Maddock, William Owen, Edwin Paull, Thomas Ray and Henry Wilkins.
Anyone related to one of the founding members wanting to order a photograph should contact Noel Abson on 9754 5421.
