DRAFFIN Superannuation Consulting provides professional yet personal service.
The Emerald firm specialises in all accounting, tax and consulting services for self managed super funds (SMSFs).
Director Amanda Draffin said the SMSF area was rapidly growing and integral to many clients’ retirement plans.
“Unfortunately, due to frequent legislative changes, this is also an increasingly complex area,” she said.
Ms Draffin will create a personal package of services to suit each customer.
“We want to help individuals enjoy the retirement lifestyle they wish without the worry of compliance or accounting issues,” she said.
“We like nothing better than a client popping in to tell us about their latest holiday and often end up talking far more about this than tax!”
Ms Draffin has more than eight years’ experience specialising in SMSFs and is accredited with the Self Managed Superannuation Fund Professionals Association of Australia.
She is also a qualified CPA, completed a diploma in financial planning and has worked with accountants and financial planners.
She established Draffin Superannuation Consulting last year because she believed it should not be necessary to travel into the city for professional, qualified advice.
Both Ms Draffin and her sister Jacqueline Gill, who manages the office, grew up and still reside in the area.
“I am enjoying working for a company that genuinely cares about its clients,” Ms Gill said.
“I have found the impersonal nature of big firms very frustrating as a customer, so that’s what we want to avoid.”
Draffin Superannuation Consulting uses a set fee process agreed upon up front, rather than charging by the hour.
“We don’t want our clients to miss out on advice because they are worried about getting charged extra for an additional phone call,” Ms Draffin said.
“The focus of Draffin Superannuation is to provide expert advice combined with a friendly, flexible attitude.”

Draffin Superannuation Consulting also provides outsourcing packages to accounting firms who choose to use a qualified specialist for their clients’ SMSF accounts.
“This can save accountancy firms’ resources, software, time and personnel,” Ms Draffin said.
