Cathy Farrell – Australian Labor Party
I have lived in the Federal seat of Casey all my life. Our family has strong links to the area with my maternal grandparents owning a number of dairy farms throughout the Yarra Valley. I attended Mooroolbark and Lilydale West Primary Schools.
Throughout my teenage and young adult years, I belonged to the Ridge Theatre Company in Kalorama.
After marrying Tom Farrell in 1990, we moved to Mount Evelyn where we had two children and became very involved in our local community.
For a very brief period during my teenage years, I played drums in a heavy metal band. We weren’t very good and never quite managed to move beyond the garage.
I think there are three important issues – communications, education and health.
Labor’s major reforms such as the National Broadband Network (NBN), Better Schools Plan (Gonski) and DisabiltyCare Australia (NDIS) will transform our lives and increase opportunities for all people living in the Federal seat of Casey.
I consider myself to be a woman of integrity. During this campaign, I have been very honest with people even when my answer to their question was not necessarily the one they were seeking.
