Michael Schilling – The Greens
I’m 24 years of age, live in Pakenham and work full time as a registered nurse at the West Gippsland Hospital. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and heading out into the hills to do some bush walking. I enjoy listening to live music, in particular supporting local and upcoming artists.
As a teenager I had a part time job hosting children’s parties, where I would dress up as a partial clown to entertain the children (still had to abide by the company's uniform policy).
Cost of living is the biggest issue in the electorate, which the Greens will address by advocating for a $50 increase a week to the Newstart allowance to help single parents who are suffering cruel government cuts, investing in renewable energy to bring down power bills and bringing dental to Medicare for all Australians
The Greens have a strong record of delivering, even with just a few voices. The Greens are the only party that's costed its policies. I have the passion and conviction to work hard for the people of La Trobe and if elected would not sell out on my principles.
