MOUNT Evelyn paid homage to its businesspeople and community workers last Friday night, as the Mount Evelyn Business Awards night came around for another year.
Representatives from businesses across the town joined Evelyn MP Christine Fyffe and deputy mayor Maria McCarthy for a night of laughs and community recognition at Twisted Vine restaurant for the 22 November event.
John Vaytaven was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, and winners were marked from a number of different fields.
Able Bakehouse won the Retail Excellence Award, while Fit Gym was the recipient of the Service Excellence Award.
Nica Construction was the winner of the Industry Achievement Award, while Mount Evelyn CFA was marked as the winner of the Community Group of the Year.
Mount Evelyn Retreat was awarded the Best Home-Based Business and Top of the Town Pet Supplies received the award for Outstanding Achievement.
Billy Goat Brasserie won the award for Best Presented Business, Friends of the Mount Evelyn Aqueduct won the Environment Award, EDGE Martial Arts won the Youth Development Award and two special awards went to Paul Simpson for his work manning the CCTV cameras in the town and Mount Evelyn Pharmacy for having a new defibrillator for public use.
The final award of the evening was the Mount Evelyn Community Bank Business of the Year Award, which was scooped by Methven Professionals Real Estate.
Visitors were treated to great entertainment on the evening as three of the attendees, including Ms Fyffe, played celebrity heads and a trivia session was held on topics from the town’s history and current-day.
