900 on sewer list

SOME 900 properties in Monbulk have been identified by the council as needing further assessment in regards to the need for sewerage to the area.
Yarra Valley Water Project Manager Joanna Cooper says work is underway to develop a Whole of Water Cycle Plan, which will consider each part of the water cycle to determine options for wastewater management in the area.
Local conditions and community feedback will also be taken into account.
“The shortlisting of options is under way which will help us to determine the most appropriate wastewater management solution for Monbulk,” Ms Cooper said.
“Yarra Valley Water is currently investigating a number of traditional and alternative sewerage options for Monbulk.
“This has been more complex than we originally thought, and is taking slightly longer than expected.”
