Captain is seriously sci-fi

By Effie Caloutas

Space Captain Smith will this month feature at the Gem Community theatre.
The season will run for three weekends from 9 June until 24 June and is recommended for all ages.
Writer and director Ross Housham believes anyone who is into science fiction will enjoy the play.
“Anyone who is familiar with science fiction will recognise a lot of the jokes in Space Captain Smith,” he said.
Housham said that the author of the book series was interested to see how well the play was received.
“This has been a pet project of mine for a while – science fiction sometimes takes itself very seriously,” he said.
Tickets are available at www.gemcoplayers.org.
