Monbulk Road closures

Monbulk Road in the Dandenong Ranges will be closed for five days this week while tree removal works take place.

Seven trees along Monbulk Road have been identified as needing to be removed to help keep the community safe.

Monbulk Road will be closed between Kallista and Monbulk from Monday 11 November to Friday 15 November between 7am and 5pm each day.

Crews will use a crane to remove seven large trees, resulting in the need to close the road to ensure the safety of motorists and crews.

Access to local schools will be maintained and traffic controllers will work with local residents to make sure they are able to get in and out of their properties.

Electronic signs will be in place along Monbulk Road and surrounding roads to advise drivers of the closure and provide information on alternative routes to get them to where they need to go.

Drivers heading east will be detoured via Upper Coonara Road, Holden Road, Olinda-Monbulk Road and then back onto Monbulk Road at Monbulk.

Motorists heading west will be detoured onto Masches Road, Patch Road, Kallista-Emerald Road and then back onto Monbulk Road.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead as they may experience delays with local roads used in the detour route expected to be busier than normal.

For more information on detours and the works visit vicroads.vic.gov.au or call 13 11 70.
