Mount Dandenong Tourist Road is closed in both directions between the Burwood Highway and Hughes Street, Tremont due to a truck rollover near the 1000 Steps.
It’s understood the collision has resulted in around 5000 litres of canola cooking oil spilling across the road and in what is probably the longest slip and slide ever it’s estimated that the spill is 100 metres in length.
Emergency services are on scene, and the road is expected to be closed for a few hours. Detours are in place, though people travelling in the area are urged to avoid the area.
