Bow and arrested
Olinda Police arrested a 24-year old male for shooting a bow and arrow in Dandenong Ranges National Park over the weekend.
The man was found shooting at a target off Belview Track in the National Park at 1.30pm on Sunday 13 December.
Sergeant Andrew Heardman said the man’s behaviour was reckless and dangerous and the weapon could of easily caused someone a serious injury or killed someone.
Firearms and weapons are prohibited from the Dandenong Ranges National Park.
The man was released pending summons to be charged with possessing a prohibited weapon and carrying a hunting article in a National Park.
He will face court in early 2021.
Cyclist collides with car
A 38-year old cyclist suffered serious injury after colliding with a car over the weekend.
The cyclist was travelling down Mountain Highway about 1.41pm on Sunday 13 December when it collided with a vehicle at the sharp intersection where Hilton Road meets Mountain Highway.
The cyclist caused minor damage to the vehicle, including the mirror.
Senior Constable Harrison of Belgrave Police said cyclists need to take more due care and monitor their speed when travelling down hills.
The cyclist was take to the Alfred Hospital with internal injuries including spinal injuries and a gash in his back where he collided with the car’s mirror.
Mount Evelyn collision
Lilydale Police are seeking witnesses to a collision that occured at the Clegg Rd and Monbulk Rd intersection in Mount Evelyn.
An accident occured on Thursday 3 December involving a yellow Suzuki Swift and a champagne coloured Nissan Patrol.
Any witnesses with dashcam footage are asked to contact Lilydale Police Station on 9739 2300.
Belgrave and Tecoma thefts
Police are seeking assistance to identify three men in relation to a theft in Tecoma on Saturday 5 December.
Information is also sought on a second theft by two men in Belgrave on Tuesday 8 December.
