A Croydon man passed away yesterday after his ride on mower overturned.
The 53-year old was contracted to undertake mowing duties in Lilydale when the ride on mower he was operating rolled on top of him.
Lilydale Police Detective Sergeant Ian Brown said the man was found deceased about 3pm yesterday afternoon by neighbours who went to investigate his whereabouts.
Units from Lilydale SES, Mt Evelyn Fire Brigade, Lilydale CFA and Ambulance Victoria attended the scene.
Detective Sergeant Brown said Lilydale Police and WorkSafe are investigating and preparing a report for the coroner.
A post-mortem is being undertaken today to ascertain whether the man suffered a health episode.
