Man dies in Montrose crash

A man has tragically died after crashing into a tree in Montrose over the weekend.

The 53-year-old man was driving along Old Coach Road when his grey Ford sedan left the road and collided with a tree near the intersection of Mt Dandenong Tourist Road on Sunday 29 August. He died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the vehicle being driven in the area prior to the incident at 4.10pm.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Senior Constable Franklin at Knox Highway Patrol on 9881 7900/9881 7000.

Alternatively, leave a confidential report via Crimestoppers: 1800 333 000.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
