Police said a 54-year-old woman and her dog were fortunate to escape injury when the vehicle she was driving collided with a fence on McNicol Road in Tecoma on Monday 3 January.
After the collision the woman received an evidentiary breath test and returned a reading of 0.166, over double the legal limit.
Police said her license was immediately suspended and she will be charged on summons with drink-driving offences.
If convicted, the woman will receive license cancellation and she will be required to install an alcohol interlock in any vehicle she drives once she is re-licensed.
