Reflecting on 11 years serving Gembrook

With recent changes in the electoral boundaries in Victoria, I reflect on my time as the Local Member of Parliament for Gembrook, which I have represented for over 11 years. Due to these changes, the areas of Cockatoo, Emerald and Gembrook will be amalgamated into the Monbulk electorate, with the new seat of Berwick being created. The seat of Berwick is what I will be standing for, as we head towards the November 2022 state election.

I am proud to represent the areas of Cockatoo, Emerald and Gembrook since 2010 and have many amazing memories; the Cockatoo Australia Day breakfast and Country Farmer’s market, meeting and working with the CFA volunteers in our community and the Emerald SES and those who organise and manage the many community programs and events that bring or community together.

There is a lot to see and do in our community; socialise and enjoy the food and drink at the many cafes and restaurants, shop at the wonderful and varied retail stores and I cannot forget the tourist attractions such as Puffing Billy – which I love to ride on. The people along with these important representations of our community are what maintains my enthusiasm and inspires me to continue my work with our community. I am proud of being a local community person and I commit to representing the Gembrook electorate as your voice in Parliament.

Thank you for the support and belief in me over the years, I am proud of being a local community person and I look forward to maintaining this relationship with people and providing you support through a voice in State Parliament as we head towards the state election in November 2022.
