Selby Primary School’s ‘Trash 2 Treasure’ Market organised by the Parents and Friends Association has been pushed back until Term Four.
The event was originally planned for the first weekend of April, then delayed until April 10 due to the weather forecast, and finally suspended until October or November.
Acting Principal Scott Burton said the event will be something for the community to engage with after a difficult couple of years during the pandemic.
“With so many events that have been cancelled over the last couple of years, it’s been nice to still be able to do something like this,” Mr Burton said.
There will be live music, food and drinks stalls and pony rides among other attractions, with the event a fundraiser for the school.
“Locals have been able to book a stall and they bring along what they want to sell, so who knows what’s going to be there on the day,” he said.
“We’re up to around 30 stallholders, and we’ve also got a couple of professional food vans coming along and professional face painters.”
The market will be held at the school oval at 2 Morley St, Selby VIC 3159 from 11am-3pm.
