Two free workshops focusing on waste and environment topics are coming to Emerald Library in November.
Cardinia Shire Council and Casey Cardinia Libraries have partnered to host the sessions, as well as an additional two free workshops in Pakenham, covering the following topics:
-How to start a worm farm
-Ways to conserve and use water to maintain a healthy and productive home garden
-How to reduce food waste and save on grocery bills
-How to identify and control weeds safely at home.
-Cooking with food scraps
On Saturday 12 November at Emerald Library, Open Table and Cardinia Shire Council will hold a live demonstration cooking Veggie Scrap Fritters.
Participants will be provided with the recipe to take home to continue their zero food waste journey, and one participant will will win a zero waste cooking door prize on the day.
The event will run from 11am to 12pm.

A ‘world of weeds’ event will be held on Saturday 26 November, helping attendees identify and control weeds safely at home.
The event will run from 10.30 to 11.30am at Emerald Library.
