Yarra Ranges Council has confirmed it will fill in a collapsed culvert at 73 The Crescent in Sassafras after being alerted to the hazard on the weekend.
It is believed after hours crews webbed off the whole located near Nobles Lane and Colehurst Crescent, after Yarra Ranges Council was alerted to the hole on the weekend of Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September.
A post about the collapsed culvert was published on social media over the weekend, alerting residents to the hazard.
Works will continue this week to fix the hole and is believed to be safely webbed off for those using the road.
